Video production feedback
The candidate
demonstrates excellence in the creative use of most technical skills allowing
level 4 to be reached as best fit. The production clearly fulfils the task and
fits the chosen genre demonstrating an excellent awareness of codes an
conventions of the music video in branding the artist with close ups with
careful lip synching.
A clear
understanding of the genre gained by research allows the candidate to create a
music video which targets an audience that would like the metal genre of music. Editing skills are excellent and the style
and pace of the video are appropriate to the genre. Use of mise-en-scene is considered. Hair and
make up are used to construct a persona to brand the artist and props
re-inforce the themes of the video and song. Framing and composition are used
effectively to create cropped shots that intrigue the viewer and allow a focus
on the artist. Lip synching is achieved with excellent skill and is a key
success in the video which fulfils its purpose therefore material shot is
appropriate to the task. Some shots changed so they are on their side are les
successful and the narrative could have been clearer. Time lapse shots of a tree show
experimentation. The shots are quite abstract and link with the genre. Use of
the camera is proficient. Audience feedback should allow the candidate
to consider the effectiveness of these. The candidate worked alone on all
